About Rockway
Where is Rockway Kennel located?
Rockway Kennel is a family-owned kennel in Fenwick, in Ontario’s Niagara region.
Which dogs does Rockway raise?
We raise Red Golden Retrievers and Fox Red Labradors, the dogs behind our Home of the Reds name.
How are Rockway puppies raised?
Our dogs live alongside our family, and every litter becomes part of the everyday rhythm of our home. Puppies experience close handling, household sounds, time on the grass, and a thoughtful balance of play and rest as their individual personalities begin to show.
What matters most to Rockway?
We care about healthy beginnings, attentive veterinary care, time spent getting to know each puppy, thoughtful family matches, and support that continues after homecoming.
Applications & Waitlist
Are puppies available right now?
Our current puppies have homes. Families interested in a future Rockway puppy are welcome to join our 2026 Waitlist.
How do I join the 2026 Waitlist?
Complete our puppy application so we can learn about your household, timing, experience, and hopes for life with a dog. We review each application and discuss the next step directly with families.
Does an inquiry or application reserve a puppy?
No. An inquiry starts a conversation, and an application helps us understand your family. Neither one automatically reserves or guarantees a puppy.
Can I request a male, female, or certain colour?
You can share your preferences in the application. We listen carefully, but we do not promise a particular sex or colour before we know the litter and have discussed the right match.
How does Rockway match puppies with families?
We take time to learn each puppy’s temperament and each family’s home, lifestyle, and hopes. That gives us a more thoughtful foundation for the matching conversation than choosing on appearance alone.
When do puppies go home?
Rockway puppies stay with us until they are at least eight weeks old. We confirm each family’s individual homecoming timing after the litter arrives.
Visits & Matching
When can families visit a litter?
Once the puppies are about four weeks old and their immune systems are stronger, we welcome families to visit our kennel by appointment.
Why does Rockway wait until about four weeks for visits?
The first weeks are an important and vulnerable stage. Waiting until the puppies are about four weeks old gives their immune systems time to become stronger before we welcome visitors.
Can I stop by the kennel without an appointment?
No. All visits are arranged directly by appointment so we can protect the litter’s routine and give each family the right time and attention.
Can I meet a puppy before homecoming?
Yes. Once the litter is about four weeks old and ready for visitors, matched families can arrange a visit with us by appointment.
The Rockway Puppy Package
What is the Rockway Puppy Package?
It is the thoughtful take-home basket prepared for every Rockway puppy. It brings together essential paperwork, familiar comforts, food, toys, and a few extras to help the first days at home feel calmer and more familiar.
Which papers come home with my puppy?
Every puppy goes home with their registration papers, health papers, proof of a recent veterinary check, and proof of first vaccinations.
Will my puppy be microchipped?
Yes. Every Rockway puppy is microchipped by our veterinarian before going home.
Does the package include something familiar from the litter?
Yes. We tuck in a soft blanket carrying the mother’s scent, giving the puppy something familiar to curl up with as they settle into a new home.
Does food come in the puppy package?
Yes. We send home one week of Raw Performance dog food so the puppy’s first meals can remain consistent during the transition.
Are toys included in the puppy package?
Yes. The basket includes toys and a few thoughtful extras chosen to make those first days feel comfortable and joyful.
What veterinary care is completed before homecoming?
Each puppy receives a recent veterinary check, first vaccinations, and a veterinarian-placed microchip before leaving Rockway. Proof of that care goes home with the puppy.
Does Rockway offer a health guarantee?
Yes. Every Rockway puppy is covered by our two-year health guarantee against genetic defects. We share the complete guarantee details with matched families.
Will Rockway help after my puppy comes home?
Yes. Homecoming is the beginning of a lasting relationship, and we welcome questions from Rockway families as their puppy settles in and grows.
Training, Guardians & Shop
Can I ask Rockway about training?
Yes. Use our general inquiry form and tell us about your dog and what you are working on. We will let you know how we can help.
How do I ask about the guardian program?
Use our general inquiry form and tell us about your household and where you live. Guardian homes are considered individually, and we will talk through whether the program may be a fit.
What can I find in the Rockway Shop?
The shop features Rockway Kennel apparel and accessories. Each product page shows its current options, price, and availability.
When will I see shipping and tax for a shop order?
Shipping and applicable Canadian tax are itemized during checkout before payment.
Contacting Rockway
What is the best way to contact Rockway?
Use our general inquiry form for training, guardian homes, existing-family questions, shop help, or anything else. Use the puppy application when you are ready to be considered for a future puppy.
What should I include in an inquiry?
Tell us how to reach you, what you are asking about, and any details about your home, dog, or timing that will help us give you a useful response.
Can I ask a question before applying?
Absolutely. A quick question can go through the general inquiry form; the longer puppy application is there when you are ready for that next step.
